BERNARD FOUCHET was born on June 11, 1932, in Cerdon – du – Loiret, France. He was the student of Augustine Memin who worked with Utrillo and Alfred Chagniot, a student of Montezin.
Art critics Jacques Faizant and Denise Pop describe his work as: “When
BERNARD FOUCHET paints, at one end is the brush, then there is the canvas, and
at the other end is his eye. He
approaches his canvas boldly and with precision.
All decorative, the objects placed in the compositions refuse to be named
“still life”. All are alive,
all are the joys of life. Leaves,
fruit, elaborate vases, baskets and musical instruments embrace the harmony over
the lively colors and contrasts. The
subjects, finely elaborate and yet filled with fantasy, stimulate our eyes and
brighten up our senses.”
